Vijit resort has gone through some major overhauling the past 5 years. This resort located facing the Andaman sea on Friendship beach Rawai is a family owned business. The land was aquired by the Great Grandfather Vijit many years ago when Phuket was known for its tin. Rubber become a part of Phuket's economy.
Durring the tsunami of 2004 Vijitt was saved and blessed by the Lone island (Goh Lone). The main factor that played into saving Vijitt resort was that is faces the Andaman sea and the beach front is not exposed to the Indian ocean like Indonesia, Sri lanka and India was.
